Alonzo C. Pocock was 20 years old when he enlisted at Coshocton, Ohio, on June 13, 1861. He served for three years in Company K, and with the Field & Staff. Alonzo began his service as a corporal. He received a promotion to regimental quartermaster sergeant on February 15, 1863.
Following his muster out with the regiment on June 24, 1864, Alonzo C. Pocock returned to Coshocton County. In 1893, he contacted members of the 24th OVI reunion organization and reported that he was residing in Jewitt, Harrison County, Ohio. He died May 8, 1914, in nearby, Means, Ohio.
