William Marlow

William Marlow was born in England circa 1832.

William Marlow enlisted at age 29 at Sandusky, Erie County, Ohio, on 1 June 1861. He mustered into Company C of the 24th Ohio Volunteer Infantry Regiment on June 1, 1861. He served as a private in the 24th O.V.I. William Marlow was very patriotic, and he reenlisted for service in January 1864. He was transferred with a detachement of reenlisting 24th O.V.I. veterans to serve in Company F, 18th Ohio Veteran Volunteer Infantry Regiment. William Marlow died during the Battle of Nashville, Tennessee, of wounds received 15 December 1864. His remains are interred in Oaklawn Cemetery, Sandusky, Ohio.

William Marlow's widow, Mary filed for a war widow's pension on 2 February 1865. After Mary remarried, her new husband, George Krock, filed for a guardian's pension for her minor son, William H. Marlow, on 2 May 1867.
