PRIVATE JOHN S. HUNTLEY

John S. Huntley was 21 years old when he enlisted at Norwalk, Ohio on June 6, 1861. He served for three years in Company A. John was highly patriotic and reenlisted for another three years with Company F of the 18th Ohio Veteran Volunteer Infantry Regiment. He mustered out with the company on October 9, 1865.

Following his muster out, Huntley returned to Huron County. John kept in close contact with his old friends in the 24th Ohio Volunteer Infantry Regiment. The 24th O.V.I. reunion association listed him as residing in Berlinville, Ohio, in 1891, 1893, & 1896.

John S. Huntley died November 8, 1927 at Berlin Heights, Ohio.
